The Crypt Keeper Slays the hits
A Tales from the Crypt Bruiseical
Fulfilling a lifelong dream of mine, I got together with some extremely talented friends and staged an original musical written and composed by me. But not just any musical, this bruiseical is a celebration of our decrepit companion the Crypt Keeper—you probably know him from his most well-known work: Tales from the Crypt. It’s young, dumb, and full of puns, enjoy at your own peril!
Live Performance
Right after Halloween, we put on 2 shows at the Broadwater Theater in Los Angeles. We couldn’t have wished for a better reception even on our finest monkey’s paws. Our friends Connor O’Brien and Molly Shannon were there to capture all the shrieks of laughter.
Radio Play
In addition to subjecting my friends to some of hell’s worst puns in song form, another obsession of mine is old time radio plays. This was a rare opportunity to combine truly all my favorite things into one—sound effects, horror, puns, radio, vape-based humor. End of list. I booked some studio time for the leads of the musical, then a whole mess of sound effects and sound design later… bingo bango blood-soaked fango we’ve got ourselves a full-on radio play you can listen to at your convenience as a podcast on all your favorite platforms.
Script
If you want to dive even deeper, you can read the script right here on this website using the power of computing technology. And you better believe I have plenty more unproduced musical scripts where that came from. At least… unproduced for now…
